West Haven School District serves as the home for West Haven High School, a large, comprehensive public high school in West Haven, CT, that educates 1,813 students in grades 9–12, making it the biggest high school in the immediate area and roughly double the size of nearby alternatives. Despite its size and a district rated in the bottom quarter of Connecticut, the school itself has climbed to about the 33rd percentile of high schools statewide, showing steady improvement over the past decade.

For parents, the most striking mix is strong graduation and science results alongside weak math scores.
