Legacy High School is a large public high school in Broomfield, Colorado, serving approximately 2,052 students in grades 9–12 as part of the Adams 12 Five Star Schools district, and it consistently ranks among the top public high schools in the northern Denver metro area. Legacy has been a steady 4-star performer for a decade, ranking 60th out of 338 Colorado high schools in 2025–2026 (82nd percentile). The graduation rate is outstanding at 95%, the dropout rate is just 0.8%, and chronic absenteeism (22.7%) is well below the district rate of 32.2%. Academically, students far exceed district and state averages: 78% are proficient in SAT Reading/Writing (vs. 55% district and 60% state) and 57% in SAT Mathematics (vs. 33% district and 32% state).

Within its district, Legacy vastly outperforms nearby Mountain Range High School and Northglenn High School, and even Horizon High School, the district's second-best, trails by 12–15 points in reading and math. Legacy's closest competitive peer is Broomfield High School, which trails in most subjects (69% vs. 78% in reading; 42% vs. 57% in math), and Legacy also holds its own against Centaurus High School and Jefferson Academy Secondary in math.

There are watch items, however. Science proficiency has fallen sharply from 47.3% in 2022–2023 to 31.4% in 2025–2026 — well behind Centaurus (62.5%) and Jefferson Academy (50.6%).
