Sunrise Elementary School is a K–5 school in Colorado Springs, CO, serving 506 students as part of School District No. 3. The school currently ranks in the 31st percentile statewide (646th of 943 elementary schools) with a 2-star rating—a notable decline from a decade ago, when it consistently earned 3 stars and ranked near the 60th percentile. While its district ranks in the 60th percentile statewide, Sunrise sits well below that mark, and academic proficiency lags both the district and the state in nearly every subject.

The biggest academic concern is math. Just 21.5% of Sunrise students are proficient in math, compared with 29.5% in the district and 37.3% across Colorado—a gap that appears as early as 3rd grade, where only 19.0% of students meet proficiency.
