Madison Elementary School is a PK–5 elementary school in Colorado Springs School District No. 11, serving 265 students in a predominantly low-income area of Colorado Springs. The school currently holds a 2-star rating and ranks in the 30th percentile statewide, with about 73% of students eligible for free or reduced lunch — a share that has risen in recent years as the student population has become increasingly economically disadvantaged.

Madison's strongest academic area is math, particularly in 3rd grade, where 37.8% of students are proficient — above the district average of 36.7% and close to the state average. Overall math proficiency (30.8%) also beats most nearby schools, including Henry Elementary School, Penrose Elementary School, Wilson Elementary School, and Carver Elementary School. In reading, Madison's 30.5% ELA proficiency trails the district (36.9%) but still outpaces six of the nine nearby schools with data, including Twain Elementary School, Roosevelt Charter Academy, and Wilson Elementary School.
