Summary:
Six high schools are listed in ZIP code 92392: four serve grades 7–12 and two serve grades 9–12. Across the six, average proficiency in 2025–26 was 57% in English language arts (ELA), 29% in math and 39% in science, compared with state rates of 49%, 38% and 36%. The school-to-school spread is especially wide in math and science: the top-to-bottom gaps were 61 points and 61 points, respectively. The most important finding for families is that schools in the same ZIP code report sharply different proficiency results.
University Preparatory stands out at the top, leading all three subjects with 89% in ELA, 68% in math and 78% in science—40, 30 and 42 points above state rates. Cobalt Institute of Math and Science was second in each subject, at 73%, 43% and 47%, and also exceeded state rates in all three. At the lower end, Silverado High had the lowest math and science results, 8% and 16%; Excelsior Charter had the lowest ELA result, 39%, just below Silverado’s 41%. Graduation rates were above the 88% state rate at all six schools, ranging from 89% to 99%.
Recent changes were mixed: the six-school average rose 2 points in ELA and 6 in science from 2024–25, while math was essentially unchanged; the state gained 1 point in ELA, 3 in science and 1 in math. Silverado High declined in all three subjects, while Excelsior Charter School Corona-Norco improved in all three, including an 11-point ELA gain. SchoolDigger ranks University Preparatory 33rd of 2,137 statewide (98th percentile, five stars) and Cobalt 277th (87th percentile, four stars) for 2025–26. The reported low-income measure for all six is free/reduced lunch eligible, for 2024–25; shares range from 51% at Corona-Norco to 86% at Adelanto High, with no simple pattern linking those figures to scores. All-grade comparisons reflect differing grade spans, and Corona-Norco enrolls just 133 students.
