Victor Valley Union High includes 11 schools—two middle schools and nine high schools—with reported proficiency results for 2024–2025 and 2025–2026. In 2025–2026, the schools’ average results were about 40% in ELA, 22% in math, and 25% in science, below state averages of 49%, 38%, and 36%. The largest average shortfall was in math, at 17 percentage points. The most important takeaway is that these averages hide very large differences from one school to another.

University Preparatory led all three subjects, with 89% ELA, 68% math, and 78% science—about 40, 30, and 42 points above state results. Recent changes were mixed: the 11-school average was essentially flat in ELA and math, while science rose about 3 points from 2024–2025 to 2025–2026, roughly matching the state’s improvement. Victor Valley High, Adelanto High, and Lakeview Leadership Academy improved in all three subjects; Silverado High and Goodwill Independent Study declined in ELA. Other school measures show different profiles: University Preparatory reported a 99% graduation rate and 2% chronic absenteeism, while Goodwill Independent Study reported 65% graduation and 62% chronic absenteeism. The reported measure for all schools was free/reduced lunch eligible, school year 2024–2025; rates ranged from 75% at University Preparatory to 91% at Victor Valley High. These figures are context, not an explanation for school results.
