Summary:

ZIP code 92019 has 13 schools—eight elementary, two middle, and three high schools—across three districts, serving students from elementary through high school. For the 12 schools with 2025–2026 test results, unweighted school averages were 39% in ELA, 26% in math, and 29% in science, compared with state benchmarks of 49%, 38%, and 36%. The most important finding for families is how much results vary from school to school: the highest-to-lowest gaps were 41 percentage points in ELA, 40 in math, and 47 in science.

Rancho San Diego Elementary led elementary schools in all three subjects, with 55% in ELA, 49% in math, and 55% in science—about 6, 10, and 19 points above the state benchmarks. Hillsdale Middle also stood out, scoring 57% in ELA, 45% in math, and 44% in science, above state benchmarks in each. At the lower end, Lexington Elementary scored 16% in ELA and 8% in science, respectively 33 and 28 points below state benchmarks; Montgomery Middle scored 8% in math, 30 points below the state.

Across the same 12 schools, average ELA and math results fell from 2024–2025 to 2025–2026 by about 1 and 2 points, while science rose about 2 points; because state benchmarks also rose, the average school-to-state gap widened in all three subjects. SchoolDigger statewide percentile ranks moved in different directions over three years: Cajon Valley Home rose from 15 to 35 and Dehesa Elementary from 18 to 31, while Vista Grande Elementary fell from 65 to 53. As context, the 2024–2025 free/reduced lunch eligible measure was 79% at Rancho San Diego, 61% at Vista Grande, and 37% at Dehesa; these figures do not explain test results. Results are school-level averages, and schools serve different grade spans.
