Summary

San Joaquin County Community is a K–12 alternative school in Stockton, in San Joaquin County, serving 1,021 students through the San Joaquin County Office of Education. In 2025–2026, about 3% of students were proficient in English Language Arts (ELA), 3% in math, and 6% in science. Graduation has improved, but attendance and dropout remain concerns: 59% graduated, 44% were chronically absent, and 35% dropped out. The most important finding is that proficiency is extremely low across all three tested subjects.

Science is the school’s strongest subject relative to California, while ELA is its weakest: proficiency was 6% in science versus 36% statewide, and 3% in ELA versus 49% statewide.
