Summary

West Creek Academy is a top-performing K-6 elementary school serving 983 students in Valencia, part of the Saugus Union School District, and has consistently ranked in the top 2-5% of all California elementary schools for over a decade.

The school excels academically, with over 80% of students proficient in English and Math, significantly outperforming both district and state averages. What truly sets West Creek apart is its exceptional support for all students; it ranks in the 99th or 100th percentile statewide for its Hispanic, low-income, and Asian student subgroups, and even its special education students rank in the 93rd percentile. This success is coupled with remarkably low chronic absenteeism, at just 2.3%, which is far better than nearby schools like Tesoro del Valle Elementary (5.6%) or James Foster Elementary (8.7%).

West Creek achieves this excellence very efficiently, spending less per student than many neighboring schools with lower performance, such as Rosedell Elementary. It has maintained its top-tier status even as the number of students qualifying for free/reduced lunch has nearly doubled, showing a resilient and effective educational model. While all schools in the Saugus Union district perform well compared to those in the neighboring Castaic Union district, West Creek Academy stands at the very peak.

Open Quote Teachers need training. Some still have pets and award only those they prefer. Principal and Assistant Principal have kids there, and many Teachers who add to overcrowding, and they win awards, take all the daycare spots and don't live in the community. Gate is anyone who studied for the test or your mom is a Gate teacher. Some teachers are really nice, but others think they know everything and they're not trained well. Bad attitude. Many in the community want to and cant wait to send their kids to private school as no kids really live in the community that go there. Lots of Asians and Hispanics that don't live in community, spoiled majority kids with parents who race past the crossing guard and speed in the parking lot. Fake attitudes around. School just gives homework for the heck of it and extra work at home for no real reason. Needs a shift in teachers, move them to other schools and move out non residents. Close Quote
