Grand Oaks Elementary serves 348 students in grades K–5 in Citrus Heights and is part of San Juan Unified. SchoolDigger placed it in the 17th statewide percentile for 2025–2026 and awarded it 1 star. Its proficiency rates were below the district and state in English language arts (ELA), math, and science. The most important finding is that Grand Oaks is also below the average of nearby K–5 schools in all three subjects, with ELA its clearest weakness.

Chronic absenteeism also improved from its 41% peak in 2021–2022, but reached 26% in 2025–2026, up 4 points from the prior year and above the district’s 21% and state’s 18%.
