Twin Peaks Middle serves 1,164 students in grades 6–8 in Poway, within the Poway Unified district. Its 2025–2026 test results are above California averages, but the most important finding is that the school trails its district and most nearby schools in all three tested subjects.

English language arts is Twin Peaks’ strongest subject against both the state and district: 61% of students were proficient, 12 percentage points above the state and 12 below the district. Math was 44% proficient—6 points above the state, but 22 below the district—and science was 44%, 8 points above the state and 20 below the district. Among nine nearby schools serving the same grades, Twin Peaks scored below the peer average in ELA (61% versus 69%), math (44% versus 58%) and science (44% versus 57%); it ranked third-lowest among the ten schools in each subject.
