Summary

Canyon Oaks High is a 49-student high school serving grades 9–12 in Monrovia, California, in the San Gabriel Valley area, and is part of Monrovia Unified. It is a very small school, and its reported graduation rate is a bright spot, but academic proficiency and attendance are major concerns. Most important, 2025–2026 Smarter Balanced proficiency was just 14% in English language arts (ELA) and 0% in math.

Test results were well below both state and district levels: ELA was 36 percentage points below the state and 42 below the district; math was 38 points below the state and 44 below the district.
