Summary

Riverview Elementary is a public school serving 469 students in grades 2 through 5 in the Lakeside Union Elementary district, consistently ranking as a top-tier 4-star school in California.

Riverview stands out for its strong and consistent academic performance, significantly outperforming both its district and the state in English, math, and science. It is particularly effective in supporting its students, ranking in the 96th percentile for Hispanic students statewide. The school also excels in student engagement, with a chronic absenteeism rate of only 8%, which is less than half the rate of many nearby schools like Lemon Crest Elementary (27.2%) and W. D. Hall Elementary (29.4%). Remarkably, Riverview achieves these excellent results while spending less per student than other schools in its own district, such as Lindo Park Elementary and Lakeside Farms Elementary.

While the Lakeside Union Elementary district ranks in the middle statewide, Riverview is a consistent high-performer, maintaining 4-star ratings for over a decade. Its success demonstrates that a school's culture and instructional strategies can lead to outstanding outcomes, even when compared to schools in higher-ranked neighboring districts like Santee.
