Hill Creek Elementary is a 695-student K–8 school in the Santee district, among several nearby schools serving families in the area. In 2025–2026, 60% of students were proficient in English language arts (ELA), 49% in math and 42% in science—above California’s rates in all three subjects. The most important finding is that these schoolwide results conceal sharp differences by grade, with eighth-grade math and science standing out as particular weaknesses.

Compared with nearby Santee K–8 schools, Hill Creek ranked third of six in each subject; its ELA and math results exceeded the peer averages of 57% and 47%, while its science result was below the 44% average.
