Summary

Renaissance at Mathson is a San Jose middle school serving 326 students in grades 6–8 in the Alum Rock Union Elementary district. Its latest proficiency results show that students are performing below both state and district averages in English language arts (ELA), math, and science.

Among nearby schools serving the same grades, ELA is the clearest relative weakness, while math is closest to peer results. In 2025–26, 27% of Renaissance students were proficient in ELA, compared with 33% at Ocala Middle and 30% at William Sheppard Middle.
