Summary

Oakdale Tk-8 is a K–8 school in North Highlands, serving 559 students in the Twin Rivers Unified area. In 2025–26, about 18% of students were proficient in English language arts (ELA), 16% in math, and 10% in science. The most important finding is that results were below state and district levels in all three subjects, pointing to broad academic challenges rather than a weakness confined to one subject.

Results have improved since 2022–23, especially in math: ELA rose 4 points, math 9 points, and science 1 point by 2025–26. Over that period, the gap with the state narrowed by 1 point in ELA and 5 points in math, but widened by 5 points in science. SchoolDigger ranked Oakdale in the 10th percentile statewide and gave it 1 star in 2025–26, up from the 2nd percentile in 2021–22; it ranked above only Whitney Avenue Elementary among nearby schools with current rankings. SchoolDigger’s ranking for African American students was notably stronger, at the 45th percentile in 2025–26, compared with the school’s overall 10th percentile.
