Liberty High is a 748-student school serving grades 9–12 in Madera, in the Golden Valley Unified area. Its clearest academic strength is English language arts (ELA): in 2025–2026, 72% of students were proficient, compared with 49% statewide and 58% in the district.

Compared with nearby comprehensive high schools, Liberty placed third of five in ELA, math and science. Its ELA result was below Clovis West High (83%) and Clovis North High (94%), but above Justin Garza High and Bullard High. Math is the main concern: 34% proficiency was 5 points below the state and 8 below the district, though higher than at Bullard and Justin Garza.
