Victor Elementary has 18 elementary schools, all serving kindergarten through sixth grade. In 2025–2026, their average proficiency was 35% in ELA, 26% in math, and 22% in science, compared with state averages of 49%, 38%, and 36%. Only five schools topped the state in ELA, five in math, and three in science. The most important finding for families is how widely results differ from one school to another.
Sixth Street Prep led all three subjects, with 72% proficiency in ELA, 70% in math, and 77% in science. Its scores were 4, 15, and 22 percentage points above the next-highest school in each subject, respectively; it also had the lowest chronic absenteeism, at 2%, versus 18% statewide. Mountain View Montessori Charter was second in all three subjects, at 68%, 55%, and 55%, while Galileo Academy 101 also performed strongly, with 51% ELA and 46% math. At the other end, Brentwood Elementary had the lowest ELA and math results, at 16% and 6%; Del Rey Elementary had the lowest science result, at 6%.
Across the two years of test results, group averages changed little: ELA and math rose by less than a point, and science by about a point, while state averages increased faster. Some school results moved sharply: Endeavour School of Exploration fell 9 points in ELA and math and 14 in science, while Sixth Street Prep’s science score rose 15 points. SchoolDigger’s 2025–2026 statewide percentile rankings placed Sixth Street Prep at the 86th percentile, Mountain View at the 81st, and Galileo at the 65th; Sixth’s rank was down from the 93rd percentile in 2023–2024. Context also varies: in 2024–2025, free/reduced lunch eligible students made up 74% at Sixth Street Prep and 92% at Brentwood, while their student–teacher ratios were similar, at 22.9 and 23.2. These figures describe differences between schools, not what caused them.
