Summary

Galileo Academy 101 is a K-6 elementary school serving 693 students in the Victor Elementary district of Victorville, consistently performing as a standout in an area where many schools face significant challenges.

Despite serving a community with high economic need, Galileo's students are achieving well above average, particularly in mathematics where they outperform both the district and state by a wide margin. The school has also made impressive strides in improving student attendance, with chronic absenteeism dropping dramatically to a rate better than most nearby schools, including Endeavour School of Exploration. While two local charter schools, Mountain View Montessori Charter and Endeavour, post higher test scores, they serve student populations with considerably lower poverty rates, making Galileo's strong academic results especially noteworthy.

Galileo has shown remarkable, long-term consistency in its performance, maintaining a solid rating for over a decade. However, parents should be aware of a recent and sharp decline in the measured effectiveness of its special education services, which is a departure from its historical strength. Overall, Galileo Academy 101 demonstrates that strong student outcomes are achievable within the Victor Elementary district, setting it apart from many peers like Green Tree East Elementary and Village Elementary.

Open Quote I hope after reading this review, the staff at this website would take the time out to review and re-rank this school again. I'm quite sure at the time of the first ranking the school's capacity was at a low. Since the 2010-11 school year began, Galileo has had a significant increase in its enrollment and warrants another review. My daughter took the G.A.T.E testing to be eligible to attend this school and was accepted in the Fall. Before moving to California, my daughter was in Private School in Georgia and she received the same amount of love, nurturing, challenging work that she was accustomed to receiving in her previous school. From Mrs. Campbell, the Principal to Ms. Laurie the administrative assistant, to her teachers Mr. Longshore and Mrs. Parrish, my daughter has received the BEST education she could possibly receive from a public setting. This school deserves all the recognition and outstanding education it merits. I urge schooldigger to take another look at this dynamic institution that is providing a safe and spirited environment full of wonderful and the most caring educators that I have had the pleasure of knowing. The leadership displayed by the Principal is incredible and a breath of fresh air from the normal mediocrity now demonstrated through out the educational system. If my family did not have to relocate to another state, my daughter would still be in that school until middle school. We will miss Mrs. Campbell, her staff and of course the Parents Association for all their dedication, hard work and genuine love of children and the need to create a safe and wonderful environment for children to learn and grow. We love and miss everyone at Galileo 101 and as a Mother and educator, I am eternally grateful for all you've done for my daughter A.Scott.
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you....
