Summary

Discovery School of the Arts is a K-6 elementary school serving 902 students in Victorville, California, and it stands out as a consistently strong performer within its local Victor Elementary school district.

Academically, the school's students score well above both district and state averages, with over half proficient in English Language Arts and strong results in math and science. This is particularly notable because the school achieves this with a high-need student population and a higher student-teacher ratio than many nearby schools. The school has also made impressive strides in improving student attendance, dramatically reducing chronic absenteeism over the past few years, which is a key factor in its success.

When compared to other local schools like Galileo Academy 101, Village Elementary, and Brentwood Elementary, Discovery School of the Arts delivers superior academic outcomes. It also outperforms schools in neighboring districts such as Adelanto Elementary and Hesperia Unified, even when those schools have significantly higher funding. For families in the area, this school represents a stable, high-achieving choice that effectively supports its students.

Open Quote My Daughter has been at Discovery since the 1st grade (she is in the 4th now). We love this school, the structure of the school is very good. Academically, I believe that Discovery goes above and beyond, they definitely make sure that the parents are very much involved. We unfortunately will be moving at the end of this school year. It saddens me, this is the only school our daughter has known. She will be having to go through the new friend phase and it breaks my heart. Honestly, if my husbands new job did not have to take us out of the desert (selfish mom, me I, me, me want and can't wait to get out of this desert!) I would allow my husband the commute down the the hill, only to allow our daughter to finish her years out at Discovery, this is how happy I am over this school. Close Quote
