Summary:
There are 19 elementary schools in Simi Valley Unified; 18 have test-score data and serve K–5, while Justin Elementary serves K–6. In 2025–2026, the 18-school averages were 48% in ELA and 35% in science, slightly below state results, and 41% in math, above the state. The central takeaway is how widely results differ from one school to another: each subject’s top-to-bottom spread is about 55–57 percentage points.
Vista Elementary stands out as the top performer in both tested Smarter Balanced subjects, with 80% proficient in ELA and 75% in math—about 31 and 37 points above state results. Hollow Hills Elementary ranks second in ELA and math, at 74% and 68%, and is also second in science at 60%. Big Springs Elementary leads science at 62%, about 26 points above the state. At the lower end, Knolls Elementary has the lowest ELA and science results, at 25% and 5%; Berylwood Elementary has the lowest math result, at 19%. Each is about 20–31 points below its subject’s state result.
Scores have shifted unevenly, and the group’s overall position relative to the state weakened in all three subjects between the two years supplied. Notable exceptions include Knolls, where math rose 18 points even as ELA fell 11 and science fell 15, and Sycamore Elementary, where science gained 24 points. SchoolDigger’s statewide rankings also show differing trajectories: Hollow Hills moved from the 84th to the 89th percentile, while Madera Elementary moved from the 76th to the 58th. As context, 2024–2025 free/reduced lunch eligible shares ranged from 31% at Wood Ranch Elementary to 86% at Park View Elementary; those figures do not explain test results. Ratios vary too: Vista had 23.6 students per teacher and Park View had 16.3, illustrating that this measure alone does not sort schools by achievement. The score trends cover only two years, and SchoolDigger rankings are not state-issued ratings.
