Summary:

Lowell Joint has six schools: five elementary schools serving kindergarten through grade 6, and Rancho-Starbuck Intermediate, serving grades 7–8. In 2025–2026, the elementary schools averaged 58% in English language arts (ELA), 55% in mathematics, and 43% in science, compared with state results of 49%, 38%, and 36%. The clearest overall finding is that Meadow Green Elementary leads the elementary schools in every subject.

Meadow Green scored 70% in ELA, 65% in mathematics, and 52% in science—21, 27, and 16 points above the state, respectively. At the other end, Olita Elementary had the lowest elementary ELA result, 45%, which was 4 points below the state, and the lowest elementary mathematics result, 44%. Rancho-Starbuck had the lowest mathematics result among all six schools, at 42%, though its ELA result of 58% was 8 points above the state. Elementary results varied by as much as 24 points in ELA, 22 in mathematics, and 17 in science.

Elementary averages rose by 1 point in ELA, 5 in mathematics, and 3 in science from 2024–2025 to 2025–2026, with Macy Elementary posting the largest gains in mathematics (13 points) and science (12 points). Rancho-Starbuck declined in all three subjects, including 9 points in ELA. SchoolDigger ranks Meadow Green at the 87th percentile and Jordan Elementary at the 74th; since 2023–2024, rankings rose 7 points for Macy and Meadow Green but fell 9 for Rancho-Starbuck. Elementary student–teacher ratios ranged from 22.7 to 24.7. The free/reduced lunch eligible measure for 2024–2025 ranged from 49% at Macy to 63% at El Portal Elementary; these figures are context, not an explanation for school results.
