Summary:
Los Altos Elementary includes nine schools: seven elementary schools serving grades K–6 and two junior highs serving grades 7–8. In 2025–2026, the average school result was 87% in ELA, 87% in math and 80% in science, compared with California results of 49%, 38% and 36%, respectively. Every school scored above the state in all three subjects, though results varied between schools. The most important takeaway is that the area’s results are much higher than the state’s, but families will see meaningful differences from school to school.
Springer Elementary led all-grades ELA with 93%, 14 percentage points ahead of Almond Elementary at 79%. Covington Elementary had the top math result at 93%, 16 points above the low of 77% at Santa Rita Elementary. In science, Georgina P. Blach Junior High led with 90%, 19 points ahead of Santa Rita’s 71%. Blach also outscored Ardis G. Egan Junior High in all three all-grades subjects, with the largest gap in math at 8 points.
Across the schools, mean results rose by 2 points in ELA and 1 point in math from 2024–2025 to 2025–2026, while science increased by less than 1 point. Science gains were mixed: Egan improved by 8 points, while Springer fell by 5. SchoolDigger ranks Covington 8th statewide, Blach and Oak Avenue Elementary 10th, and Springer 12th; all nine schools have five stars. Student-teacher ratios range from 17.5 at Blach to 22.5 at Egan. All schools report free/reduced lunch eligible for school year 2024–2025; the reported shares range from 2% at Gardner Bullis Elementary to 19% at Santa Rita, which also has the lowest all-grades math and science results. These all-grades figures combine schools serving different grade spans, so grade-level results can offer a more direct comparison.
