Summary:
Little Lake City Elementary includes nine schools: seven elementary schools serving K–5 and two middle schools serving grades 6–8. Across the 2025–2026 results, schools were above the state in every tested elementary grade and in middle-school ELA; middle-school math was much closer to the state benchmark. The clearest area-wide strength is ELA, while middle-school math is the main subject to watch.
Cresson Elementary stands out among elementary schools, leading in All Grades ELA at 64% and math at 60%, and tying Paddison Elementary for the science lead at 55%. Those results are 17 points above the elementary ELA average for Cresson and 10 points above the science average for both leaders. At the other end, Paddison’s ELA result is 47%, 17 points below the group’s top result; Jersey Avenue Elementary has the lowest elementary All Grades math result, 38%. Among the middle schools, Lakeside Middle leads Lake Center Middle by 7 points in ELA and 9 in math.
Across the nine schools, All Grades averages fell by 3 points in ELA and 3 in math from 2024–2025 to 2025–2026, while science rose by 5 points; individual schools varied, with Cresson rising in all three subjects and Paddison’s ELA falling 15 points as its science rose 25. SchoolDigger rankings also moved in different directions: Cresson rose from the 61st to the 81st percentile, and Studebaker Elementary from the 69th to the 75th, while William W. Orr Elementary and Jersey Avenue declined. Context figures do not sort neatly with results: student-teacher ratios range from 17.9:1 at Cresson to 21.7:1 at Lakeview Elementary; every school reports free/reduced lunch eligible for 2024–2025, from 72% at Lakeview to 82% at Cresson. Chronic absenteeism averages 39%, above the state’s 18%, and ranges from 32% at Lakeside to 43% at Paddison. The two-year All Grades averages combine elementary and middle schools, so they are broad directional summaries rather than grade-matched trends.
