Summary:

ZIP code 90670 has five schools—three elementary schools, one middle school and one high school—across three districts. In 2025–2026, the schools’ average all-grades proficiency was 56% in ELA, 40% in math and 41% in science, compared with state results of 49%, 38% and 36%. These all-grades figures cover different grade spans, so they are not fully like-for-like comparisons. The clearest area standout is Santa Fe High, which led in every subject and exceeded the state in ELA, math and science by 23, 13 and 14 percentage points.

Santa Fe High scored 73% in ELA, 51% in math and 50% in science. At the other end, Rancho Santa Gertrudes Elementary had the lowest ELA result, 37%—36 points below Santa Fe—and Lake Center Middle had the lowest math result, 34%. Jersey Avenue Elementary had the lowest science result, 32%, while Rancho was second-highest in science at 43%. Among elementary schools, Lakeview Elementary led in all-grades ELA and math, with 56% and 43%. Grade-level results offer a different picture: Jersey led elementary schools in grade 3 ELA and math, while Rancho led grade 5 math and science.

Recent changes were mixed: the five-school average fell 1 point in ELA and 4 points in math from 2024–2025 to 2025–2026, while science rose 8 points; the state improved in all three subjects. Jersey’s results fell 11 points in ELA, 13 in math and 11 in science, while Rancho’s science rose 19 points and Lakeview’s rose 16. SchoolDigger’s statewide percentile ranking also diverged: Santa Fe rose from the 79th to the 87th percentile, while Rancho fell from the 70th to the 48th. As context, all five schools reported the same measure, free/reduced lunch eligible, for school year 2024–2025; figures ranged from 72% at Lakeview to 87% at Rancho. Chronic absenteeism in 2025–2026 was 36%–40% at Jersey, Lake Center and Lakeview, compared with 18% statewide; Rancho and Santa Fe were lower, at 16% and 15%.
