Middle Schools in Conejo Valley Unified

Middle schools in Conejo Valley Unified include four schools serving grades 6–8: Colina, Sequoia, Los Cerritos and Redwood. Enrollment ranges from 589 to 832 students. In 2025–26, the four-school averages were 64% in ELA, 52% in math and 49% in science—about 15, 14 and 13 percentage points above state results, respectively. All four schools were above the state in every subject, but scores varied substantially among schools. The clearest overall finding is that Los Cerritos led all three subjects, while Sequoia had the lowest results.

Los Cerritos scored 72% in ELA, 64% in math and 58% in science, leading the other schools by about 11, 16 and 11 points, respectively. It was also the only school above the district average in all three subjects. At the other end, Sequoia scored 58% in ELA, 45% in math and 42% in science, though it still outscored the state by about 9, 7 and 6 points. The gap between the highest- and lowest-scoring schools was about 14 points in ELA, 19 in math and 16 in science. Los Cerritos also led every grade in both ELA and math.

Average results rose from 2024–25 to 2025–26 by about 4 points in ELA, 2 in math and 5 in science, but gains differed by school: Redwood had the biggest science increase, 12 points, while Sequoia had the largest ELA increase, 9 points. Los Cerritos’ SchoolDigger statewide percentile rose from 89th to 91st over three years; the other schools’ latest percentiles were below their starting ranks. For 2024–25, free/reduced lunch eligible rates ranged from 20% at Los Cerritos to 31% at Sequoia. Ratios ranged from 19.6:1 at Sequoia to 22.3:1 at Redwood; the lowest ratio did not correspond to the strongest results.
