Summary:

Brea-Olinda Unified has 10 schools serving students from elementary through high school, with a reported total enrollment of 5,740. Among the six elementary schools with 2025–26 scores, the average was 66% in ELA, 63% in math and 50% in science—16, 24 and 14 points above state results, respectively. Results for Brea Online Academy and Brea Canyon High (Continuation) are suppressed for 2025–26. Overall, elementary scores compare favorably with the state, especially in math, but vary considerably from school to school, with ranges of 27 points in ELA, 34 in math and 38 in science.

Olinda Elementary led the six scored elementary schools in every subject, with 80% in ELA, 80% in math and 69% in science—8, 7 and 7 points ahead of the next-highest school in each subject. At the lower end, Laurel Elementary had the lowest ELA result at 53%, while Arovista Elementary had the lowest math and science scores, at 46% and 32%; its science result was 4 points below the state. Brea Junior High was well above the state in tested grades, including 7th-grade math at 63% versus 38%. Brea Olinda High was also ahead in 11th grade, but its all-grades math result of 49% was 13 points below the district result.

Elementary averages improved from 2024–25 to 2025–26 by 1 point in ELA, 2 in math and 5 in science, although individual results were mixed: Arovista improved in all three subjects, while Brea Country Hills Elementary declined in math and science. SchoolDigger’s statewide percentile for Olinda rose from 94 to 97. For 2024–25, Olinda reported 25% free/reduced lunch eligible; Country Hills reported 19% directly certified for free meals, a different measure. These figures are context, not explanations for school results. Brea Canyon’s graduation rate was 95%, but chronic absenteeism was 64%, compared with 18% statewide; its 2025–26 test scores are suppressed.
