Summary:

The TEAM Charter District has one school: TEAM Charter, an elementary school serving kindergarten through fifth grade and 511 students. The most important finding is that its 2025–2026 proficiency rates were well below California’s in all three tested subjects, while chronic absenteeism was substantially higher: 23% versus 49% in English language arts (ELA), 12% versus 38% in math, and 10% versus 36% in science; absenteeism was 35% compared with 18% statewide.

There is no meaningful top-to-bottom comparison among schools because TEAM Charter is the only school in the district. Within the school’s results, ELA was its strongest subject by proficiency rate, at 23%, compared with 12% in math and 10% in science. However, its gaps to the state were similar across subjects: 27 percentage points in ELA, 27 in math, and 26 in science. Grade-level results show a particular concern in fifth-grade math, where proficiency was 4%—33 points below the state. ELA was closest to the state in fourth grade, though still 17 points lower.

Results rose from 2024–2025 to 2025–2026: proficiency increased by 2 points in ELA, 1 point in math, and 3 points in science. State rates also rose, and the gap narrowed slightly in ELA and math but widened slightly in science. SchoolDigger’s ranking improved from the 3rd percentile in 2023–2024 to the 5th in 2025–2026, but the school remained low statewide, ranked 5,522 of 5,804 with 0 stars. Other context includes a 24.3 student-teacher ratio in 2024–2025 and 85.7% free/reduced lunch eligible that year. These figures describe the school but do not establish why its results differ from the state’s.
