Summary:

Zip code 85379 has nine schools: eight listed as elementary schools—one serving K–5 and seven serving K–8—and one high school. On the latest all-grade AASA results, the elementary schools average about 47% in ELA and 42% in math, compared with 41% and 33% statewide; six of the eight schools are above the state in both subjects. But results vary widely: the gap between the highest and lowest elementary scores is 26 percentage points in ELA and 35 points in math. The most important takeaway is that the area averages are above state results, but they hide substantial differences between schools.

Marley Park Elementary leads the elementary schools in all-grade ELA at 59% and math at 57%, compared with Ashton Ranch Middle School at 33% and 22%. That puts Marley Park 26 points ahead in ELA and 35 points ahead in math; Ashton Ranch is also 8 points below the state in ELA and 11 below in math. Calibre Academy Surprise is also below state results in both subjects, by 7 points each. Marley Park leads fifth-grade science at 59% versus 34% statewide and eighth-grade science at 46% versus 30%. Highland Prep is a separate high-school standout: its 11th-grade ELA and math results are 19 and 29 points above state results.

SchoolDigger’s rankings show mixed movement rather than a single trend: from 2023–24 to 2025–26, Countryside Elementary School rose 15 percentile points and Sonoran Heights Middle School rose 12, while Calibre Academy fell 19 and Ashton Ranch fell 18. In the latest rankings, Highland Prep is at the 83rd percentile and Marley Park at the 80th, compared with Ashton Ranch at the 21st. School size and reported student–teacher ratios do not offer a simple guide to results: Legacy Traditional School - Surprise has 1,797 students and a ratio of 46 students per teacher, yet scores above state results in both subjects; Countryside has the lowest elementary-school ratio, 14.7, but scores below Marley Park. Grade spans and reported science grades vary, and free/reduced-lunch data are unavailable.
