Summary

Lakeland Elementary School is a public PK-5 school serving 418 students in Auburn, Washington, as part of the Federal Way School District, which is ranked in the lower third of districts statewide.

Academically, Lakeland's test scores in English, Math, and Science are below the Washington state average, but it performs better than most other elementary schools within its own district, such as Rainier View Elementary School and Mirror Lake Elementary School. The school shows particular effectiveness with English Language Learner students and operates with relatively efficient spending compared to some district peers like Sherwood Forest Elementary School.

However, a significant performance gap exists when comparing Lakeland to nearby schools in other districts, such as Northwood Elementary in the Puyallup School District and Evergreen Heights Elementary in the Auburn School District, which have notably higher proficiency rates. Performance also varies considerably between grade levels at Lakeland, and the school's statewide ranking has declined over the past several years.

Open Quote When we moved to Federal Way my son had attended Highline school dist. He was doing poorly in the Highline school dist. When he started attending Lakeland there was a huge difference in the teachers and the atmosphere for this school. Right away I noticed a difference in his attitude towards school and the desire to learn. Since he started in the 3rd grade and now is in 6th grade in the Cambridge Program. Last year for his 5th grade WASL he scored 522 on his math and 426 in reading!! We have moved from the school zone but I still choice my 1st grader in there and drive him everyday to school. I will do the same for my youngest who will be in kindergarten next year. This is the best school ever, from the teacher's to the principle and the great office staff. We love you guys thanks for the last 4 yrs!! Close Quote
