Summary

Hayden Peak School is a public elementary school in West Jordan, Utah, serving 717 students in grades K-6. The school is part of the Jordan School District, which is ranked 48 out of 93 districts in the state and has a 3-star rating from SchoolDigger.

Hayden Peak School faces several key challenges, including consistently high chronic absenteeism rates, ranging from 22.7% to 28.4% over the past few years, which is significantly higher than the state average and the rates of nearby schools like Falcon Ridge (23.8%), Oakcrest (23.8%), and Jordan Hills (23.8%). Additionally, the school's academic performance, as measured by RISE test scores, is generally below the Jordan District and state averages across all grade levels and subjects.

While Hayden Peak School is performing below the district and state averages, there are some nearby schools, such as Copper Canyon and Mountain Shadows, that are also struggling with similar or even lower test scores and higher chronic absenteeism rates. The higher rates of free and reduced-price lunch recipients at Hayden Peak School and some nearby schools may indicate that these schools serve communities with lower socioeconomic status, which can contribute to academic challenges. However, there are also some bright spots, such as the 3rd-grade math proficiency rate, which is higher than the district and state averages, suggesting that there may be opportunities for the school to improve its overall performance through targeted interventions and support.

Open Quote Hayden Peak has developed into a wonderful school full of enriching academic and extracurricular activities that has helped our son grow into a well rounded individual. He is above two grade levels for math and reading. This was always the case, they have programs to work with struggling children and they are very effective! If there is a problem, Mrs. Riddle is quick to find a fair solution for all involved! Every teacher we have had since kindergarten has been phenominal except one and that was remedied by changing teachers. The parent involvement is very high which helps Hayden Peak be so successful! Test scores are average or above average. Only issues I have is I wish gym, art and computers were a daily class instead of weekly. However that is the norm across all public schools unfortunately!
