Summary

RB Stall High is a public high school located in North Charleston, South Carolina, serving 2,025 students in grades 9-12. The school is part of the Charleston 01 school district, which is ranked 23 out of 75 districts in the state and has a 4-star rating from SchoolDigger.

Despite being part of a relatively high-performing district, RB Stall High has consistently ranked in the bottom half of South Carolina high schools, placing between 170-208 out of 226-237 schools over the past 10 years. The school's performance varies significantly across different student subgroups, with African American and White students performing relatively better, while Hispanic and English Language Learner students perform very poorly, ranking in the bottom 10-20% of schools. RB Stall High's 4-year graduation rate, ranging from 78.6% to 88.8% over the past 5 years, is also below the state and district averages, and the school's dropout rate is higher than the state and district, ranging from 2.3% to 5.6%.

Compared to nearby schools, such as Allegro Charter School of Music, Charleston School of the Arts, and Academic Magnet High, RB Stall High performs significantly worse, suggesting that there may be opportunities for the school to learn from the practices and strategies of these higher-performing institutions. Additionally, RB Stall High's relatively high per-student spending of $29,970 in 2023-2024 compared to the district and state averages suggests that the issue may not be solely a lack of resources, but rather how those resources are being utilized and allocated to support student learning and achievement.

Open Quote I am a new person attending R B Stall High. Before i started going to this school i was scared. I just moved from an area and all my friends were going to a different high school. I was upset at first, but then i realized something. If you don't try something how do you know how it is going to turn out. So i gave R B Stall a chance and it didn't let me down, not at all!
