This high-performing school consistently outpaces the district and state averages in academic achievement, with strong rankings and ratings that place it among the top 100 elementary schools in Georgia.

Pharr Elementary's academic performance is particularly noteworthy, with 57.9% of 3rd graders proficient or better in English Language Arts, compared to 38.7% for Gwinnett County and 34.9% for Georgia. While Pharr Elementary's spending per student has increased in recent years, reaching $10,695 in 2018-2019, this is still higher than some neighboring schools like Trip Elementary and Starling Elementary.

Interestingly, Pharr Elementary has seen a significant increase in the percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch, from 52.28% in 2022-2023 to 66.29% in 2023-2024, suggesting the school may be serving a more economically disadvantaged population in recent years. Open Quote I did like this school but unfortunately grew to not like the school nor the staff that run it. I have dealt with issues concerning my child and Pharr staff have done nothing to help him. If you are a parent with a child with ADHD demand an IEP or 504 before its too late, the staff WILL NEVER request it and they have dropped the ball when it came to advising and providing assistance for my son. I had to end up pulling him out of the school because they lack the resource and ability to provide help when help was needed. The school lacks support for children in need, instead the continue to write him up and reprimand him for things he can't help. I am disgusted with the way Pharr have dealt with my son and his issues throughout the years. Close Quote

Open Quote I absolutely love this school. My daughter has attended since first grade (going into the fifth grade) and we have had fantastic teachers and the faculty is great. The principal takes time to work with the student council and is very approachable to the kids. We will miss Pharr when we go to middle school! Close Quote
