Granada Elementary School-East Campus consistently performs below the Alhambra Elementary District and the state of Arizona in standardized test scores across all grade levels and subjects. For example, in the 2024-2025 school year, only 13-29% of Granada students were proficient or better in English Language Arts and Mathematics, compared to 21-31% for the district and 37-42% for the state. The school's science proficiency rates are also low, with only 14-23% of students scoring proficient or better, compared to 22-24% for the district and 30-34% for the state. Nearby schools like Choice Learning Academy, Sevilla Elementary School-West Campus, and Marc T. Atkinson Middle School & Gifted Academy generally outperform Granada Elementary School-East Campus in academic achievement.

Granada Elementary School-East Campus has experienced high dropout rates in recent years, ranging from 5.2% to 11.0% between the 2021-2022 and 2023-2024 school years, which is significantly higher than the state's average middle school dropout rate. The school's performance on standardized tests varies across different student subgroups, but the school may not be providing equitable educational opportunities and support for all students. Additionally, the school's relatively low per-student spending and higher-than-recommended student-teacher ratios may be contributing to its academic challenges and high dropout rates.

Open Quote damn! that's some pretty wild stuff. i used to be a student here back in 86-87 and the school back then wasnt anything like the above review states. i remember franklin g. terbush was principal back then. there were no outbursts of any kind, no taking over anything. hell, these terms werent even in the students vocabulary, much less thinking of them. teachers would never be disrespected in any way at all by thier colleagues. there were minor incidents of course, but nothing out of the ordinary,it was peaceful back then and everyone knew their place. then again this was close to 30 yrs ago. sad to hear all that wild stuff is going on there now. well, based on the above review, i'd give it a 1, also i havent been there in 30 yrs so i dont know what's been going on throughout this entire time frame except for what is written in the above review by a teacher. Open Quote I currently teach here at Granada East school and I am warning all parents and future teachers to stay away. Mrs. Kennedy is driving this school into the ground. This school was once a great place but over the last 2 years I have seen this school fall apart. Teachers are miss treated by the administration. I have seen teachers yelled at, belittled, ignored, and just miss treated. Students have taken over the school with no or little consequences for their actions. The administration worries more about what the District office and state will think rather than making sure students have appropriate consequences for their actions. The junior high here is horrific. The teachers from Teach for America have no clue what they are doing and can not control their classes. I would stay away if I was you. Close Quote
