Among four schools with rankings in both years, the average percentile slipped from 47 to 44; individual changes ranged from Metro North Elementary’s 11-point gain to Hadley’s 17-point drop. Over the longer comparison, the average for Sueno Park, Maryvale, and Vista College Preparatory - Hadley rose from 23 to 40. These are ranking changes, not evidence of changes in test proficiency. For school choice, Hadley and Maryvale offer a useful same-grade comparison: Hadley’s fourth-grade math was 55%, versus 41% at Maryvale, while their ELA rates were closer, at 37% and 36%. Reported student–teacher ratios range from 14.4 at Metro North Middle to 19.7 at Maryvale, but the lowest ratio does not correspond to the highest results.
