Summary

Johnson Junior High School in Cheyenne serves 574 students in grades 7–8 in Laramie County School District #1. Its 2025–26 proficiency rates were low across all tested subjects: 35% in English language arts (ELA) on average across grades 7–8, 25% in math, and 21% in eighth-grade science. The main concern is that Johnson scored below the state, district, and both nearby junior highs in every comparable grade and subject.

ELA is a relative strength compared with the state and district, though results remain well behind: Johnson’s 35% average was 24 points below the state and 21 points below the district.
