McCormick Junior High School serves 622 students in grades 7–8 in Cheyenne, Wyoming, within Laramie County School District #1. Its 2025–26 WY-TOPP results show strong performance across both grades and several subjects. Most importantly, McCormick scored higher than nearby junior highs in all five matching grade-and-subject comparisons and exceeded state and district results in every comparison except 8th-grade math, where it was just below the state.

ELA is a particular strength: McCormick’s 7th-grade proficiency was 63%, compared with 54% at Carey Junior High School and 35% at Johnson Junior High School. Its 8th-grade ELA result, 67.7%, was essentially tied with Carey’s 67.6%. McCormick also led the nearby schools in math and 8th-grade science.
