Summary:

Fremont County School District #25 in Wyoming has six schools spanning elementary, middle, and high school levels, from Rendezvous Elementary, Aspen Elementary School, and Willow Creek Elementary to Riverton Middle School, Riverton High School, and Frontier Academy. Across comparable 2025–2026 results, schools averaged below state proficiency by 4.2 points in ELA, 6.0 in math, and 10.6 in science. The most important finding for families is how widely results differ between schools in the same grade, especially in upper-elementary math.

Rendezvous Elementary stands out in grade 5, leading the elementary schools in ELA at 71.6% and math at 65.2%, respectively 10.3 and 4.2 points above the state. Riverton Middle School was another bright spot: grade 6 and 7 math exceeded state results by 6.3 and 6.1 points, though grade 8 math was below state. At the other end, Aspen Elementary School was below state results in five of six reported elementary ELA and math comparisons; its grade 5 math result of 28.6% was 32.4 points below state. High-school graduation rates also differ: Frontier Academy reported 80.0%, compared with 68.6% at Riverton High School.

Recent changes are mixed, with some progress but no consistent improvement across the schools: among 24 matched results from consecutive years, 10 improved relative to the state and 14 worsened, for an average gap change of about −1.1 points. Riverton Middle School improved in five of seven matched comparisons, while Riverton High School raised grade 10 ELA by 9.6 points and math by 22.0. SchoolDigger rates the district one star and ranks it 36th of 44 Wyoming districts; its school percentile rankings have also moved in different directions, including a rise for Riverton High and a decline for Rendezvous. Reported student-teacher ratios range from 10.2 at Aspen to 16.4 at Riverton High, while elementary FRL eligibility ranges from 39.0% at Willow Creek to 47.8% at Rendezvous; these figures offer context but do not explain the different outcomes.
