Our family moved to Berkeley Springs a year and a half ago and we LOVE Widmyer Elementary school. We have two children who attend there and they love going to school everyday. Mr. Weber who is the current principal does an outstanding job of staying connected to the children and parents of Widmyer. He greets them every morning at drop off. Our kids are so happy if he is the one who gets to help them out of our car...my youngest makes sure she gets a hug each morning and Mr. Weber always checks out our sons mowhawk for height/stiffness each morning! LOL He make syou feel welcomed and relaxed and involved which as a parent is so important. I know at anytime I could go to him if need be and I would be heard.

There are some wonderful teachers and staff members on the Widmyer team as well. I always feel like they are all working together to make our childrens education not only #1 but fun and enjoyable. They are always thinking up special celebration days for the children and special assembly programs. The offer a Star Student program which recognises that weeks star of each class and invite the parents in for lunch and they also have a Wall of Fame for children whom are caught doing good deeds...my children feel so special to be choosen for these things.

I think Widmyer is a first rate school...we are actually likely moving this year and one of the reasons I dread to have to is b/c I hate to leave this school. If you like a hometown feel with people who make your child feel recognised and special Widmyer is a perfect fit!
