Mountain View Elementary & Middle School in Union, WV, is a PK-8 school serving 456 students in the Monroe County Schools district, a rural community where the school has recently made significant academic strides.

The most encouraging news for parents is that Mountain View is a school on the rise. After ranking in the 22nd percentile statewide in 2023-2024, the school has jumped to the 50th percentile in just two years—a remarkable turnaround. This improvement is especially visible in 6th grade, where students are outperforming their peers across the region.
