Open Quote Poor parental involvement policies that deter parental involvement, lack of appropriate expenditures to facilitate better educational policies ( at one point the Summers County Superintendent made just 20K less than the WV State Superintendent while teachers make the state mandated minimum salary and lack necessary tools and training to meet the needs of Summers County Schools students), and last but not least, as of November 1, 2016, at least one third grade class has not had a graded writing assignment. About Student-Teacher Ratio
Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
