Haugen Elementary is a small rural school at 615 5th St W in Haugen, Wisconsin (Barron County), serving PK through 4th grade with 83 students as part of the Rice Lake Area School District. It currently ranks 327th of 1,039 Wisconsin elementary schools — the 69th percentile, 3 stars — placing it in the top third of the state and well above its own district's mid-pack standing (46th percentile). That is the school's best result since 2018-19, and it caps a V-shaped recovery from a pandemic-era slide to the 41st percentile in 2020-21.

On the 2025-26 Forward Exam, Haugen beat the state average in 3rd- and 4th-grade ELA, 3rd-grade math, 4th-grade math, and 4th-grade social studies, with social studies its most consistent strength — above both district and state in every year on record.
