Summary

Riverview Middle is a grades 5–8 school serving 555 students in Plymouth, Wisconsin, part of the Plymouth Joint School District. In 2025–2026 it ranked 173rd of 643 Wisconsin middle schools — the 73rd percentile and 4 stars — a major improvement from 2016–2017, when it ranked 435th of 612 (29th percentile, 1 star). Recent years have held fairly steady in the 60s and 70s percentile range.

Academically, Riverview scored above the state in every tested subject and grade in 2025–2026. Math is a standout: grade 6 math was 71.43% proficient versus 53.60% statewide, and grade 7 math was 72.50% versus 55.67%. Grade 8 science (62.71% vs. 51.86%) and social studies (72.88% vs. 64.63%) were also comfortably above state. English language arts was above state as well, though individual grades dipped below state in earlier years, so the recent gains are worth watching. Subgroup results are a bright spot: Hispanic students ranked in the 86th percentile and low-income students in the 71st percentile, with both groups improving substantially in recent years.

Chronic absenteeism was 13.6% in 2024–2025, better than the state's 17.3% and far better than Sheboygan Area School District schools such as Urban Middle, Farnsworth Middle, Etude Middle and Horace Mann Middle (18.3%–40.3%). The dropout rate is essentially zero. Compared with neighbors, Riverview outranks those Sheboygan schools and Sheboygan Falls Middle, but trails Kiel Middle, Kohler Middle and Howards Grove Middle, all ranked in the 91st–99th percentiles. About 29% of students qualify for free or reduced lunch, per-pupil spending is $12,585, and the student–teacher ratio is 13.5 — near the middle of nearby districts. The main opportunities are more consistent ELA results and narrowing the absenteeism gap with top-performing neighbors.
