Peshtigo Middle is a grades 7–8 school serving 151 students in the Peshtigo School District in Peshtigo, Wisconsin, a small community in the northeastern part of the state. It ranks 394th of 643 middle schools statewide in 2025–2026, placing it at the 39th percentile with 2 stars, while its district is ranked 303rd of 432 in Wisconsin. That marks real improvement: the school sat at the 19th–20th percentile in 2020–2021 and 2022–2023, moved to 31st–32nd in 2023–2025, and reached 39th in 2025–2026 — though it remains below its earlier highs of 42nd–49th percentile in 2016–2019.

Academically, Peshtigo trails the state in all six tests it shares with nearby schools, but some gaps are small. Eighth-grade math (52.7% proficient vs. 53.67% statewide), science (50% vs. 51.86%) and social studies (62.16% vs. 64.63%) are close to state averages. The clearest priorities are 7th-grade math (42.31% vs. 55.67%, 13.36 points below the state and last among nearby schools) and 8th-grade ELA (47.3% vs. 54.38%). Locally, Peshtigo ranks fourth of five, behind Coleman Middle (58th percentile, 3 stars) and Crivitz Middle (53rd percentile, 3 stars), roughly comparable to Oconto Middle in several subjects, and ahead of Marinette Middle.

Two strengths stand out. Chronic absenteeism was 8.7% in 2024–2025, well below the district's 11.0% and the state's 17.3%, and far lower than Marinette's 32.7%; only Crivitz and Coleman were lower nearby.
