Within Onalaska, Eagle Bluff Elementary is the stronger peer (84th percentile, 4 stars), while Northern Hills Elementary is much lower (33rd percentile, 2 stars), with fifth-grade math at 47.76% despite a similar poverty rate.

Attendance is a standout strength: chronic absenteeism was 6.8% in 2024–2025, versus 9.2% for the district and 17.3% statewide, and it has generally stayed low. About 45.04% of students qualified for free or reduced-price lunch, higher than Eagle Bluff, Viking, Sand Lake, and Emerson Elementary, yet Pertzsch still outperforms several of those schools in fifth-grade math and social studies.
