As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote It's a great school with very hardworking teachers! It is also an IB school and this gives the student's an extra advantage. The school is in the middle of a changing neighborhood and the student population has changed quite a bit in the last few years. The majority of their students are on free or reduced lunch. The teachers at this school care very deeply for the students and put in extra time and work to be the best they can be. My 2 children both went on to have great college careers and are both very successful adults. I know students who still attend Franklin and their parents say the same thing. Close Quote

Open Quote Considering this site gives Franklin a 1 star rating, which is terribly untrue. Franklin is worth so much more. ... I have sent 1 child through and have another currently in 7th grade. I have nothing but GREAT things to say about the teachers and support staff at Franklin. The education of the staff, the caring & the involvement of the teachers and staff is incomparable, they truly care about "their" kids and their education. The culture at Franklin is very diverse and the students are open minded good kids. The diversity alone is worth the Franklin Experience. I would recommended Franklin to ANY family moving into the area. I have read the "scores" of schools and done my comparisons, but I am also intelligent enough to know they do not tell the whole story. My children have gotten a great education at Lincoln, Franklin and West High School. If you,as a parent care and pay attention to your child's school life, the resources available in the listed schools are phenomenal. I have found the education to be the equivalent private schools. About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
