Summary

Locust Lane Elementary is a K–5 school at 3245 Locust Ln on Eau Claire's north side, serving 296 students in the Eau Claire Area School District. On paper it looks like a district-average school: its 2025-26 statewide rank of 535 of 1,039 (49th percentile, 2 stars) almost exactly mirrors the district's own 48th percentile. But the trend behind that number is the real story — Locust Lane has climbed from the 30th percentile in 2022-23 to 34th, then 42nd, then 49th, a gain of 19 percentile points and 214 rank positions in three years.

Several things stand out in the school's favor. Chronic absenteeism is 9.6%, well below the district (16.4%) and state (17.3%), and it has fallen five years running from 14.4% — lower than higher-ranked neighbors like Manz Elementary (10.1%) and Northwoods Elementary (12.6%).
