De Soto Middle is a small public middle school in the small community of De Soto, WI, serving 101 students in grades 6–8 as part of the De Soto Area School District. For 2025–2026, it ranks 236th of 643 Wisconsin middle schools—63rd percentile, 3 stars—well above its district’s 31st percentile (297th of 432).

The school has shown a strong recent improvement trend: from the 38th–40th percentile in 2021–2022 through 2023–2024, to the 51st percentile in 2024–2025, and the 63rd percentile in 2025–2026. It now ranks slightly above Viroqua Middle (60th percentile) while spending less per student ($13,384 vs. $15,055). Seneca Junior High ranks higher (84th percentile), but it spends $16,593 per student and serves a much smaller enrollment.
