Weston School District

Weston School District is a small Wisconsin district with three schools — Weston Elementary (PK–6, 117 students), Weston Junior High School (7–8, 41 students) and Weston Senior High School (9–12, 68 students) — serving about 226 students. The district is ranked 326 of 432, at the 25th percentile with 1 star. Enrollment is concentrated at the elementary level (about 51.8% of students), followed by the senior high (about 30.1%) and junior high (about 18.1%).

The three schools follow different paths. Weston Junior High School is the clearest standout, climbing from 459 of 641 (28th percentile, 1 star) in 2023–2024 to 319 of 643 (50th percentile, 3 stars) in 2025–2026, moving from below average to exactly median; its 8th graders scored 85.71% proficient in social studies (vs. 64.63% statewide) and 64.29% in math (vs. 53.67%). Weston Elementary has the best attendance, with a 7.1% chronic absenteeism rate versus 19.6% districtwide and 17.3% statewide, plus strong 4th grade results in ELA (58.82%), math (58.82%) and science (64.71%) — but 5th grade ELA (21.43%), 3rd grade math (30%) and 6th grade ELA (33.33%) trail the state. Weston Senior High posts a 94.1% graduation rate, 0.0% dropout rate and 54.55% ACT math proficiency (vs. 42.93% statewide), yet only 36.36% in ACT ELA and science and 31.25% in 10th grade social studies.

The biggest shared concern is secondary attendance: chronic absenteeism is 30.8% at the junior high and 32.8% at the senior high, well above the district's 19.6% and the state's 17.3%. Resources do not track neatly with results — the junior high has the lowest per-student spending ($17,766) and highest student-teacher ratio (11.2) yet the strongest improvement, while the senior high has the highest spending ($25,789) and lowest ratio (7.6) but the weakest attendance. With only 41 and 68 students in the secondary schools, year-to-year changes can be driven by a handful of students, so results should be read with caution.
