Summary

Vancouver School of Arts and Academics (VSAA) is a public grades 6–12 school in Vancouver, Washington, serving 787 students in a smaller, arts-focused setting than nearby comprehensive high schools. It is part of the Vancouver School District, which ranks at the 32nd percentile statewide, while VSAA itself ranks at the 89th percentile.

VSAA remains one of the stronger schools in the area and ranked 44th of 396 Washington schools in 2025–26. That placed it ahead of Columbia River High (133rd), Henrietta Lacks Health and Bioscience High School (148th), Lewis and Clark High School (334th), Fort Vancouver High School (362nd), and Hudson’s Bay High School (373rd). Its 90.0% graduation rate also exceeded the district’s 83.0% and the state’s 82.6%. Science is a standout strength: 67.8% of students were proficient, compared with 43.35% districtwide and 50.95% statewide. Older students performed especially well, with 84.54% of 10th graders proficient in English language arts and 77.91% of 11th graders proficient in science.

Parents should also watch recent academic trends. All-grade English language arts proficiency fell to 54.33% in 2025–26, although that remained above the district’s 38.68% and the 10th-grade result was exceptional. Mathematics is the clearest challenge: proficiency was 30.96%, below the state’s 43.11%, despite being higher than the nearby comparison schools with reported results. Math has declined from 43.85% in 2022–23, while science has remained relatively stable. VSAA’s smaller enrollment, grades 6–12 structure, and specialized mission make direct comparisons imperfect, but its strong statewide ranking, graduation results, science performance, and outcomes across several student groups make it an attractive high-performing option in Vancouver.
